After launching calendar.dmg......and following the on screen instructions, Colourful Calendar will be installed in users/Applications...

Launch Colourful Calendar by double-clicking on the application.
The calendar window can be dragged to any posiition on any monitor. Its position is saved when either the window is closed or the Preferences are changed.

Changing the colours and/or background image of Colourful Calendar

Open the Preferences Window, then click on a palette to alter that calendar's object colour (the background can be set to use an image if one wishes).
To activate the Preferences Window one can use the.....
1) when over the Colourful Calendar the right-mouse click will display the contextual menu....
or....
2) one can use the menubar menu....

If either the Message Board or iCal preference are used, Colourful Calendar will open appropriate window with that particular day's messages when the menu or hotkey is pressed.

Moreover, Colourful Calendar will @ 12:01 am of each day display either the Message Board or the Colourful Calendar iCal window.

Automatic running of Colourful Calendar

To have Colourful Calendar launched when the computer is booted...add the application to your System Preferences-Accounts-Login Items....
