Colourful Calendar Preferences

The background of the Colourful Calendar can be set to any colour of the macOSX palette or
to either a preset image chosen from the drop down list box or if Other is selected to an image of your choosing.
The colour of the background is altered by clicking on the (in this case) the green canvas rectangle....this action will present a palette that allows one to alter the colour.
The toolbar menu
can be used to select between the differing methods of altering colours..ie: a coloured canvas, colour sliders, the Apple Palette, a spectrum of colours or by a selection of crayons.
The coloured canvas (the default) will appear thus...

N.B. All of the calendar colours are altered in the same manner. The colour pallette need not be closed when changing more than one colour...simply click on the next preference pallette and then use the colour pallete to alter its colour.
To change the background to use one of preset images or your own image..click (check) on the Use Image checkbox and select from the list to the right.
As you select a colour (colours) and/or image both the Preference window's canvas rectangle and the Colourful calendar will reflect the new selection immediately.

One can select from the 3 sizes available. The default is Large. When selecting the smallest size it helps to set the typeface to bold. This is applies to using an image that has a background color that makes it difficult to see the date and the days at the top of the calendar.
To decrease or increase the transparency of the Colourful Calendar move the slider to the left and right respectively.
As you select a new size or level of transparency the Colourful calendar will reflect the new selections immediately.
This setting refers to the small yellow help box that appears during a mouseover movement. In the case of the Colourful Calendar this would display the box explaining that the keystoke
will display the Keyboard Help window. If one is using the Message Board and its associated windows the balloon help describes what particular pushbuttons and fields are for and their associated hotkeys.
N.B. The above setting is most useful when using first using the Message Board.
The keystoke
will display the Keyboard Help window for any particular Colourful Calendar window that is focused on whether the balloon help is on (checked) or off (unchecked).

For Message Board Settings (see... Message Board Preferences).

Sets whether the Colourful Calendar icon is placed in the primary screens menu bar.
Once the Calendar's date is less than today-1 month or greater than today+10 months....Months can either reflect the Calendar's date-1 month to the Calendar's date+10 months continuously updated (the default) or...when set (checked) to change ONLY when that Calendar date has been set to outside of the values reflected in the menu by the following methods: The month or year has been changed by the mouse, by the arrow keys or the use of the Previous, Next Month and-or Previous, Next Year menu items.

For example the above menu with this setting unchecked would when any month/year other than this month/year is selected from the menu or the Calendar's date has been changed by any other fashion...mouse, arrow keys or clicking on the triangles will appear thus...

Otherwise to have the menus change the Calendar's date it must be changed to be outside of the menu choices...using the mouse, arrow keys or the triangles.
These settings are not permanent until saved.
